The church in Thyatira was doing some things really well. They were showing that they were full of love, faith, service, and perseverance, yet some of them, and most likely the church itself, were tolerating Jezebel. They were tolerating sin. It seems like they had misunderstood what true love requires. In their effort to be loving, which the Lord commends them for, they were tolerating wickedness.

We are bombarded all day long with false teachings and ideas. The devil is real and is actively trying to lead us astray. Are you compromising your faith in any way? In our modern day, it’s rare we encounter food sacrificed to idols, but without a doubt, most cultures of the world are corrupted by sexual immorality. Daily we must stand strong in order not to compromise our faith. We must be careful not to let the false teachings of our day seep into our lives or churches.

Let us hold to our faith and overcome through God’s grace any trial that we may face today. If we do, then we too will not be harmed by the second death, but we will be victorious and wear the crown of those who overcome.
